Friends Select Executive Director
At the quarterly membership meeting on April 7, President Jerry Jividen announced that Jennifer Starkey will be the group's first Executive Director for the otherwise all-volunteer organization. Jennifer is originally from Hocking County, and having grown up in the area is very familiar with the Hocking Hills Region and still has family ties to the area.
Jennifer brings with her considerable experience managing non-profit organizations. Most recently, she was responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of nine non-profit associations and two foundations. Her responsibilities included supervising a staff of twelve and managing directors. She also supervised and maintained databases for five associations.
At the membership meeting, Jennifer expressed her her longstanding strong passion for the beauty and preservation of the Hocking Hills and a commitment to our Friends' Board and goals. Among her first tasks will be working on the upcoming Shoot the Hills phography competition, one of the Friends' major annual fundraisers to support the Hocking Hills State Park.
