The hills are getting ready to put on a show of brilliant color in the Hocking Hills and there is no better way to enjoy them than by spending time with Friends. This fall is packed full of events for all ages with hiking, biking, dining, camping, haunting, and archery!

It's time for the 2014 Hocking Hills Fall Poker Run!
Join us on Saturday, October 4 at the Hocking Hills Dining Lodge for a hearty breakfast before you take off of a beautiful ride through the Hocking Hills.
Build your best poker hand for a change to walk away the top prize winner. Along the way, you've find bonus cash stops, door prize drawings, a 50/50, and much more. Join us back at the Hocking Hills Dining Lodge to claim your prize, enjoy delicious food and the Blues of Micah Kesselring.
All proceeds support Friends of the Hocking Hills State Park and projects within the Hocking Hills.
Participants may also register on-site Oct 4 at the Hocking Hills Dining Lodge beginning at 9:00 am.

Bring along a cool drink and celebrate the season’s colors. Meet with the naturalist at the Old Man’s Cave Visitor Center for a strenuous hike that spans roughly 6 miles of the Grandma Gatewood trail. We will be traversing the section that runs from Old Man’s Cave to Cedar Falls and back while enjoying the scenic beauty and cultural personality. This hike does include several hills and steps and is not recommended for the easily winded individual. (Approx. 3 to 4 hrs)

Join with the Haunted Hocking “HHIT” team as they search for the unexplained at Ash Cave or try your hand at Pumpkin decorating. Registered campers and cabin guest can enjoy a hayride, a family fun spooky movie, site judging, and trick or treat at Old Man’s Cave campground. Regular camping & cabin fees apply.

The 2014 Archery Shoot is open to all students age 8-18
Two Divisions - NASP/Traditional & Compound - Plus ... Two Age Brackets: 8-12 yrs old & 13 -18 yrs old.
Registration is $15 and includes lunch and a t-shirt.
Proceeds from the tournament assist the Friends of the Hocking Hills who support and help maintain the Hocking Hills State Park Archery Range. This is a GREAT resource that is local and FREE to the public to use year round.

Trails Trolls is a volunteer group that works with the Hocking Hills State Park Naturalist and offers folks a way to do some rewarding hard labor doing everything from building new trails to redoing old ones. Contact the naturalist office at (740) 385-8003 to find out how you can help.

If you answered "yes", and would like to be involved in the ongoing positive impact Friends of Hocking Hills is having on the Hocking Hills State Park, then you might be right for a seat on the Friends of Hocking Hills State Park Board of Directors.
To qualify you must:
- Be a contributor to the FHHSP.
- Be willing to attend at least six (6) board meeting per year.
- Be willing to serve on a committee.
- Be willing to assist with the planning and execution of FHHSP projects.
- Attend the Board of Directors annual strategic planning meeting.
If you are ready to commit to making a difference with FHHSP, send your letter telling us why you would like a seat on the board and how you can help to vicepresident@friendsofhockinghills.org no later than Sunday, October 19. Please include your phone number with the best time of day to reach you.
